Is T Gel really bad for your hair? If you use it with a good moisturizing shampoo, will it still work?

Will the T Gel still have the same affect if I use the T gel, use the regular shampoo, and use a conditioner? Is T Gel really bad for your hair? If you use it with a good moisturizing shampoo, will it still work?
T Gel is a shampoo, you don't use it with another shampoo. Using it with another shampoo would dilute it so much it would probably do you very little good.

As for using it with a conditioner ... yes you can do that and it will have no adverse affect on the T-Gel effectiveness. It's what I do.

As for being bad for your hair, absolutely not, at least it's no worse than any other shampoo. Nearly all shampoo's strip your hair of moisturizing oils though, which is why you need a conditioner.

Is it bad for the scalp? It's active ingredient is coal tar, which is a liquid that is extracted from coal. It's a carcinogen, but truth be told, most shampoos contain materials that can be classified as carcinogens (like silicone - remember the breast implant fiasco where leaky implants caused cancer?), and often in copious amounts.

T-Gel however only contains 1% by weight of coal tar, Of that amount probably only 1% is soaked up by the scalp resulting in a absorption of only 0.01% from a tiny dollop of the stuff (1%X 1% = 0.01%).

In short the average non-smoker probably inhales more carcinogens in an average day than the average T-Gel user gets through their shampoo. Is T Gel really bad for your hair? If you use it with a good moisturizing shampoo, will it still work?
