Does shower gel work as shampoo?

I got some for my birthday and I have never used it before so does it work as shampoo??Does shower gel work as shampoo?

i wouldn' recomend it because it makes your hair very dry and/or wirey. unless it says so on the bottle that is can do both

some work as both, just look at the label. i think irish spring or something like that works as both
Check the label. Does it have a moisturizer in it? It may make your hair more oily if you use instead of shampoo.
